When a child loses permanent housing and becomes a homeless person as defined at law, or when a homeless child changes his or her temporary living arrangements, the parent or guardian of the homeless child has the option of either:  

    (1) continuing the child's education in the school of origin for as long as the child remains homeless or, if the child becomes permanently housed, until the end of the academic year during which the housing is acquired; or   

    (2) enrolling the child in any school that non-homeless students who live in the attendance area in which the child or youth is actually living are eligible to attend.    

Cuando un niño pierde su vivienda permanente y se convierte en una persona sin hogar, tal y como se define en la ley, o cuando un niño sin hogar cambia su alojamiento temporal, el padre o tutor del niño sin hogar tiene la opción de  

(1) continuar la educación del niño en la escuela de origen mientras el niño siga sin hogar o, si el niño se convierte en una vivienda permanente, hasta el final del año escolar durante el cual se adquiere la vivienda; o   

(2) matricular al niño en cualquier escuela a la que puedan asistir los alumnos no sin hogar que vivan en la zona de asistencia en la que el niño o el joven esté viviendo realmente.
