      Informal Classroom Observation

      • Unscheduled classroom visits
      • 5-10 or more minutes in length
      • Gather evidence in Domains 2 and 3
      • Minimally one informal classroom observation must occur between the two formal observation cycles

      Formal Classroom Observation Cycles

      • At least two formal classroom observation cycles (scheduled dates/times)
      • 20 minutes or more (elementary) or a class period (secondary)
      • Pre/post conferences (before and after the classroom observation)
      • Relevant Forms:  Lesson plan, Summative Evaluation Form, Reflection Questions

      Student Growth

      • 1 student learning objective (individual or as a part of a team/PLC)
      • Goal to monitor growth over at least 4 weeks of time
      • Goal, assessment, and strategies to meet the set growth target
      • Type 3 Assessment (ex: tests, performance assessments, teacher created, etc.)
      • Relevant Forms:  SLO template, student roster

      Local Growth Model (LGM)

      • The Local Growth Model (LGM) uses national standardized assessments such as SAT, NWEA MAP to compare the growth of an individual student with local growth trends of students with the same historical achievement in the district
      • Designated score (color and rating provided)
