    How to use the discuss tab in Xero

    Xero provides numerous features to facilitate smooth collaboration among multiple users. A key feature is the Discuss tab on the bank reconciliation screen, which allows users to save notes on any unreconciled bank statement line. This helps resolve issues and answer questions more quickly.

    Here's a closer look at how this feature works in Xero.

      How it Works

      1. Access the Bank Reconciliation Screen: From the Dashboard, select a bank account to navigate to the bank reconciliation screen.

      2. Open the Discuss Tab: Click on the Discuss tab next to any unreconciled bank line.



      Using the Discuss Feature
      • Add a Comment: Enter your comment or question in the provided box. After typing your note, click Save. 



      • Visibility of Notes: Any notes saved in the Discuss tab will be visible to all users who view the reconciliation screen. Ensure that your comments are appropriate for other Xero users to see

      Collaborating with Other Users
      • Add Additional Notes: Other users with access to Xero can add their notes to the Discuss tab.
      • Create or Match: Users also have the option to Create or Match the unreconciled bank line
       
      We frequently use the Discuss feature to work collaboratively with our clients. If there are transactions you need assistance with leave, the most efficient process is to add a comment in the discuss tab and email your client manager to assist.
