Forfeit Policy - Community Competition

    Scope

    This policy applies to all teams participating in the Community Competition organized by Southern Peninsula Basketball Association (SPBA). It is aimed at providing a process for teams in the event that they need to forfeit a game.

    Audience

    This policy applies to all teams participating in the Community Competition organized by the SPBA.

    Forfeit Fines

    The forfeit fines are as follows:

    • Notified Forfeit - $65.00 incl. GST. - 2 Business days or more notice given. Notified forfeit fines are $65.00 prior to the following times:
      • Monday game – must notify prior to 4pm Friday
      • Tuesday game – must notify prior to 4pm Friday
      • Wednesday game – must notify prior to 4pm Monday
      • Thursday game – must notify prior to 4pm Tuesday
      • Saturday game – must notify prior to 4pm Thursday
      • Sunday game – must notify prior to 4pm Friday
    • Unnotified Forfeit - $130.00 incl. GST.
      • Less than 2 business days notice given.
      • Failure to show up to a game without notice.

    It is important to note that these amounts are reflective of the expenses that are still incurred by the association depending on when the forfeit occurs.

    Payment of Forfeit Fine

    Teams must pay their forfeit fine before the commencement of their next game to be allowed to take the court. Failure to do so may result in walkovers being awarded to opposition teams for games played with outstanding fines.
