Scope

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, visitors, and any individuals present on the premises of Southern Peninsula Basketball Association (SPBA) who may be captured by the CCTV cameras.

CCTV Policy

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment, we have installed Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in and around our premises. This document serves as a notification to the public regarding the collection and use of CCTV footage.

Collection of CCTV Footage

Our CCTV cameras are installed in areas that are accessible to the public and internal office areas. The cameras are positioned in a way that minimizes intrusion into personal privacy while still providing adequate coverage of the area.

Our CCTV cameras are automatically disabled during specific hours of operation, as required by the Department of Education regulations.

The footage captured by our CCTV cameras is securely stored and only accessed by authorized personnel for the purposes outlined below.

Use of CCTV Footage

The primary purpose of our CCTV system is to enhance the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. The footage collected by our cameras may be used for the following purposes:

• To deter and detect criminal activity
• To assist in the investigation of incidents that occur on our premises
• To identify individuals who may be involved in criminal activity or who may pose a risk to our premises, staff, or visitors
• To provide evidence in legal proceedings

Access to CCTV Footage

Access to CCTV footage is strictly controlled and limited to authorized personnel by the General Manager only. All requests for access to CCTV footage must be made in writing and approved by the General Manager. Access to CCTV footage is only granted when it is necessary for the purposes outlined above in a formal setting.

Retention of CCTV Footage

CCTV footage is retained for a limited period of time, after which it is securely deleted. The retention period may vary depending on the purpose for which the footage was collected and legal requirements.
