Illinois law requires that whoever has custody or control of any child between six (by September 1st) and seventeen years of age shall assure that the child attends school in the district in which he or she resides, during the entire time school is in session (unless the child has already graduated from high school). Illinois law also requires that whoever has custody or control of a child who is enrolled in the school, regardless of the child’s age, shall assure that the child attends school during the entire time school is in session.

La ley de Illinois exige que quien tenga la custodia o el control de cualquier niño entre los seis (para el 1 de septiembre) y los diecisiete años de edad se asegure de que el niño asiste a la escuela en el distrito en el que reside, durante todo el tiempo que la escuela esté en sesión (a menos que el niño ya se haya graduado de la escuela secundaria). La ley de Illinois también exige que quien tenga la custodia o el control de un niño inscrito en la escuela, independientemente de su edad, se asegure de que el niño asista a la escuela durante todo el tiempo que ésta esté en sesión.
