Out of the Box Recruiting

  1. 1

Locate and contact local Cosmo/Barber schools

Go to google for this or ask your staff, but chances are you already know who your local schools are.  Now, you just have to reach out and form a relationship with them.
  2. 2

    Discover upcoming events

Most schools offer an open house night per semester to allow local shops to recruit their students.  Find out when your local schools do this and mark you calendars.  YOU SHOULD BE AT EVERY RECRUITING EVENT IN YOUR AREA. For a how to on event recruiting please visit chopfranchiseportal.com/events
As a second option, you can reach out to your local schools to ask if they would be interested in education by you or your staff, maybe a skin fade class.  If so, schedule it and be prepared to present.
  3. 3

    Ensure you have Marketing materials

Before going to any recruiting event or class you schedule, you need to make sure you have handout items.  You will be ordering these on Vistapro, and you can order coozies, phone card holders, stickers, etc.  We also have recruiting flyers that you should be taking.  Put these together in handout bags and take enough to hand out to all attendees of the event.  If it is a recruiting event, you need a table cloth and an ipad to promote the shop and to take down people's information while you recruit.  Your handouts should be displayed on the table and you should be present to answer any questions potential candidates may have.
  4. 4

Ensure you have access to the CHOP Recruiting Page

  5. 5

    Follow-up with strong leads

No later than one week after the event, you should follow-up with strong leads.  You can offer to have them come in and shadow you, visit our academy, etc.  Students are the future of CHOP, and we need to foster these young barbers!
