Steve and I started CHOP in 2015, completely unaware of what it would grow to become. I was an attorney working full time and Steve had been a barber for over 30 years. Steve dreamed of opening a gender neutral, hip barbershop with great music and beer - Pabst Blue Ribbon to be exact.  

    We pulled all the money we had and borrowed a bit more and opened our first 5 chair shop in 600 square feet off a main road in our hometown, Tallahassee, Florida. Steve and I designed the space to be imperfect but inviting, keeping true to our first core value, we created an eclectic pub-like atmosphere. As a techie, I forced Steve to give up his ridiculously large flip appointment book in favor of an online booking system with an App attached. Within the first six months, CHOP took off. I eventually left my position as an attorney, and now, 12 stores in when people ask me how we did it, I always answer that CHOP would not be what it is without the distinctly different personalities who founded it. Steve brings customer service, depth of barbering knowledge, love of his team, and his encouragement and affirmation to our staff. I bring structure, procedures, marketing, modern conveniences, and financial soundness to the plate.  

    As a manger of CHOP, you will be the "Steve" in your store, mimicking the great energy and support he has always brought to his team and to CHOP. Our corporate staff, under my guidance, will continue to bring the business based support we always have, and you will be a big part of the execution of our system. The good news is you have a team behind you, motivated to make you successful in your position!
