3.3.3 Internet Outage Procedure

    Verify Network Connection

    Confirm that all network wires and cables are securely connected to the back of the computer and the router.

    Next, check the wireless router to ensure it is functioning correctly by checking the router's indicator lights.

    Restart Router, then computer

    • Restart the router.
    • Remove power, wait 30 seconds.
    • Return power.
    • Allow Router to restart fully. Check router indicator lights.
    • When the router is fully restarted, restart the front desk computer.

    Notify Operations

    Use Google Chat to notify the corporate team of the Internet outage. Include shop location and a brief description of when the outage began.

    Enable and use Cellphone Hotspot

    • Enable the shop cellphone's hotspot under Settings/Personal Hotspot.
    • Set to Allow Others to Join. Set the unique password for your hotspot, "chopcodered"
    • Set front desk computer and devices to use the cellphone hotspot wi-fi network. Look for the hotspot icon:
