Shop Station Standards and Requirements

Scope

This policy applies to all CHOP locations and is aimed at maintaining consistent standards for cleanliness, organization, and efficiency.

Cleanliness and Hygiene

Every station must be kept clean and free of any excess hair, product, or trash. Employees are responsible for regularly cleaning their work area and ensuring that all equipment and tools are properly sanitized. Managers must provide visual evidence of station cleanliness as a part of routine shop inspections.

Personal hygiene is also important in maintaining a clean and sanitary working environment. Employees should maintain good personal hygiene practices, including regular hand washing or sanitizing, and wearing appropriate protective gloves or bandages when necessary.

Organization of Tools, equipment, and Product

Employees and shop managers are responsible for keeping their workstations organized and clutter-free. Staff should report any missing or damaged equipment to their manager.

  • All tools, equipment, and product on each station should be kept clean and sanitized regularly with provided cleaning products.

  • Storage of tools and equipment must always align with shop licensing requirements.

  • All products on any station must only be products approved by manager, and all product used on clients must be products offered for retail, unless specifically approved by the manager.

Personalization

Staff are allowed to personalize their workstations within reasonable limits. Decorations or personal items are allowed at the manager's discretion, must not interfere with work tasks or pose any safety hazards, and must not conflict with the CHOP brand or display any wording or images that are deemed inappropriate or offensive by the shop manager. Staff are required to have their license clearly visible on their station at all times during their work shift.

The shop manager or CHOP corporate team may remove or request the removal of any items deemed to violate these guidelines at any time.

Compliance and Violation

All CHOP staff are expected to comply with the standards defined above. Managers are expected to observe and coach staff toward compliance. Any employee found to be in violation of this policy may face disciplinary action, including verbal warnings, written warnings, performance plans, or termination, depending on the severity and frequency of the violation.
