Shop Technology Approved Use Policy- Corporate

Technology is a fundamental part of the CHOP brand. We rely on technology to improve our efficiency, transparency, and ability to serve our staff and clients. The equipment in each shop all support specific critical functions. It is the responsibility of each manager to maintain and protect all technology in their shop.

Each section below details the purpose and function of the technology in each CHOP shop with links to specific procedures where applicable.

Front Desk Computer
The shop front desk computer is dedicated to check in/out clients, clock in/out staff, and manage the shop's booking schedule.

*The front desk computer is not to be used for personal use including browsing on the Internet, or playing games. Using the front desk computer for non business related purposes may result in disciplinary action.

Shop Cell Phone
The shop cell phone is in place for the following purposes:

  • To receive calls from customers to the shop's external phone number. Our phone systems are controlled through grasshopper.com. External numbers for our shops are housed in grasshopper. Customer calls are routed through extensions to the actual number on the shop cell phone. See the Virtual Assistant section of the knowledge base for more details.

  • To make calls to customers or others. This can be done through the phone's basic call app, or via the grasshopper app. Using the Grasshopper app will route the call back through the externally facing phone number. This method is advised when there is a need to call a customer. However, most customer communications should be done through the Squire messaging system.

  • To control the Rockbot music system via the Rockbot Remote app, which allows the control of music volume, and to stop/start/skip the music for the shop.

  • To act as a hotspot if the shop's main internet connection is down. To activate the hotspot, see the (ENTER SPACE FOR HOTSPOT INSTRUCTIONS)
*The shop cell phones are not to be used for personal use including calls, browsing on the Internet, or playing music or games.

iPads and Tablets
The shop iPads and Tablets are in place for the following purposes:

  • Handoff of Squire charge - display stylist tip and receipt options.

  • Checking in/out clients.

  • Rockbot request display.
*The shop tablets are not to be used for personal use including browsing on the Internet, or playing music or games.

Credit Card Reader(s)
The shop card readers are dedicated devices for accepting credit card payments connected to our front desk computers or tablets via bluetooth or wifi. The settings on these devices should not be altered in any way.

*The Rockbot devices should not be altered or adjusted without approval of the shop manager
