    Updated 8/9/22
    1. 1

If a teacher or team/department is interested in applying for a grant, the following steps should be taken:

      1.  If the grant is under $200 and does not require any additional support, the teacher or team notifies the building principal via email.  The building principal will communicate via email if the grant is approved.

      2.  If the grant is over $200, the teacher or team/department notifies the building principal through the Intent to Apply- Grant Application Form Click Here.

      • Attached to the Intent to Apply- Grant Application Form should be a blank copy of the application and any other rules/regulations that accompany the grant.

      • For grants at or under $10,000, this process should be initiated at least a month prior to the application due date.

      • For grants over $10,000, this process should be initiated at least two months prior to the application due date.

      3.  The principal will review the information listed above and determine whether the grant is connected to school or district improvement goals.  If yes, then the principal will communicate the grant information to the Assistant Superintendent. The Assistant Superintendent will review the information and determine whether the grant can be supported with district resources in the short and long term.  The Assistant Superintendent will communicate to the teacher or team/department the decision of whether they can apply for the grant via email.

    2. 2

The criteria that will be reviewed when determining if a teacher or team can apply for the external grant are as follows:

      • Is the intended purpose of the grant connected to school or district improvement goals?

      • Will there be additional financial support needed to sustain the grant after the grant funds expire?  If yes, can the school district financially support this commitment?

      • Will this grant require technology support?  If yes, can the school district support this commitment?

      • Will this grant require any additional district resources (professional development, curriculum work, community commitments, external partners, etc. )? If yes, can the school district support this commitment?

      • Does this grant comply with our current policies and procedures within the district?

    3. 3

The following steps will be taken should the teacher or team/department receive a grant.

      • The teacher or team/department will email the principal and Assistant Superintendent should they receive a grant.

      • The teacher or team/department should confirm any initial support and long term support that they may need.

      • The principal and Assistant Superintendent can assist with locating the support needed, but the primary responsibility falls to those who wrote the grant.
