      Voluntary Separation

      IMRF Employee

      1. Mid-Year Resignation – benefits end last day of month worked

      2. End of Year Resignation – benefits end 8/31

      3. Retire with Incentive – benefits end the last day of the month the incentive is paid

      4. Retire without Incentive (Employee does not have enough years to draw IMRF benefits.) -benefits end last day of the month worked

      TRS Employee

      1. Resignation

        • Mid-Year Separation – benefits end last day of month worked

        • End of Year Separation – benefits end 8/31

      2. Retirement

        • In the Pipeline – benefits end 6/30

        • Not in the Pipeline – employee choice 6/30 or 8/31, default is 8/31

      Involuntary Separation

      A.  FTTP/PTTP (Full Time Temporary Personnel & Part Time Temporary Personnel)

      1. Returning

        • Requests Deductions – no break in benefits

        • No Request for Deduction – benefits end 6/30

      2. Not Returning – benefits end 6/30

      B.  Non-Renewal (Termination)– benefits end 6/30


      C.  Resign in Lieu of Termination or Termination

      • Mid-Year Separation – last day of month worked

      • End of Year Separation – benefits end 6/30
