    Identifying Bullying

    1. Post 7:180-AP1, E2, Be a Hero by Reporting Bullying, in school buildings, student handbooks, online, etc.

    2. Train staff to recognize and accept reports of bullying, 7:180-AP1, E3, Memo to Staff Regarding Bullying.

    3. Inform parents about the District’s anti-bullying program, 7:180-AP1, E4, Memo to Parents/Guardians Regarding Bullying.

    4. Inform students how to make a report, including an anonymous report, i.e., complete and submit 7:180-AP1, E5, Report Form for Bullying.

      Reported Issue of Bullying/Harassment

      A student, parent, staff member or other person reports on an alleged issue of bullying or harassment (to the school admin or other stakeholder).

      Begin Completing the School Incident Report

      Roles Responsible:  Staff Member, Parent, Student, Other

      If the student is unable to complete the form on their own (due to developmental appropriateness a staff member could fill it out).

      A staff member could also fill out the form based upon reporting from a parent in person, on the phone, etc.

      Google Form Notification/Email

      Administrator receives notification of a Google form submission regarding a potential incident (this notification will go to all members of the admin team at the designated building).

      Administrative Review

      Administrative team member reviews the information in the bullying/harassment submission form and determines next steps.

      Follow Up

      Building admin begins to complete the district level bullying/harassment follow up form and submits at the conclusion of the investigation.

      Parents and/or guardians of both the bully and victim need to be contacted within a 24hr hour time frame of an incident reported. The school shall make diligent efforts to notify a parent or legal guardian, utilizing all contact information the school has available or that can be reasonably obtained by the school within the 24-hour period.

      Forms/Documentation

      Admin team member prints a copy of both district forms (incident reporting and follow up) in the student's temporary record file.
