1Abuse or NeglectYou have reason to believe that child abuse or neglect has occurred (ex: child disclosed to you or you recognize sighs of child abuse/neglect)

7InvestgationIf the case if taken the investigation begins within 24 hours

8Written reporting- Cants 5Written confirmation of the report is documented and sent within 48 hours to the local DCFS office

9AllegationInvestigator determines if the allegation is serious/safety concern for the child

10InterviewInvestigator interviews you, family members, and other potential witnesses

11DecisionInvestigator finds credible evidence that the perpetrator committed the child abuse/neglect

12FindingsIndicated findings sent to the school (report is confidential and is included in the temporary school record)

13Follow Up LetterMandated reporter will receive a letter informing you of the findings on a case you report
