Contact Tracing SOP

1NotificationStaff member contacts building level administration/school nurse and notifies them of one of the following situations:
- They were in close contact with a positive individual
- They have tested positive for COVID
- Or they have symptoms (potentially sent home or working from home)
Building administration/school nurse is made aware of a student- Who was in close contact with a positive individual
- Who tested positive for COVID
- That has symptoms

2CommunicationBuilding level administrator contacts Central Office to let HR Assistant Superintendent (Dr. Ady) or HR Desginee know of the situation regarding a student, staff member, or both.

3Review ProcessCentral Office designated staff members (listed above) in collaboration with building administration, review the (District 100 Employee Exlusion Tree) to determine close contacts for the given student or staff member.
This review process may include building level administration, school nurse, or the health department (in collaboration with Central Office staff).
Quarantine Guidelines are as follows:- 15 or more total minutes within 6 feet during a 24 hour period = quarantine (regardless of mask)
- Must Contact Bill (or Dan) regarding the following:
- Special Education Classroom Situations
- Classrooms without a seating chart or where students were not confidently in an assigned seat
- Teacher positive case (may need to quarantine the first row)
- Quarantining the entire class needs to be approved by Bill or Dan and school nurses need to be notified

4Calendar/TimelinesCalendar is reviewed by building administration (primary contact tracers)/school nurse, Dr. Ady (or Dr. Woestman) to see when the staff member/student was last at school.
The time is traced back for 48 hours/2 days before they started having symptoms or back to when the staff member/student tested positive for COVID if they were asymptomatic.

5Additional Review PointsBuilding level administration investigates the situation further to review/determine the following:
- Time/Duration the given individual was around the positive contact (15 minutes or more)
- Was the positive person or the person in close contact wearing a mask
- Has it been at least two weeks that the person has been fully vaccinated
- What was the distance of the person from the positive case (6 ft or less)
- Were they around others during lunch when a mask would be removed
- Videos (if applicable) are reviewed if needed to gain additional information (contacts, proximity, etc.)
- Transportation (First Student) is contacted by Greg Brown (CFO) and videos are reviewed (in the case that the student had contact with someone on the bus, outside of their class or the other contact situation)
- New CDC guidelines will be taken into consideration (when determining the length of quarantine)

6ContactsBuilding level administration/CO Staff:
- Contacts parents if student(s) need to be picked up (student cases)
- Contacts Greg Brown (CFO) if busing is involved so he can contact Transportation (First Student)
- Contacts Food Service
- Communicates with staff members that need to be quarantined (due to close contact with a given individual)
- Specificed nurse will communitate student information to the Health Department and maintain on-going communication with Dr. Ady (or Dr. Woestman) regarding student quarantine situations/returns
- District letter templates are utilized to send to the appropriate parties with the given information that can be released (parents, staff, etc.)
