6.310 E Class Substitution Request
Students in grades 9-12 may satisfy one or more high school courses or graduation requirements by successfully completing (1) distance learning courses, including a correspondence, virtual, or online course, (2) courses in an accredited foreign exchange program, (3) summer school or community college courses, (4) college courses offering dual credit courses at both the college and high school level, (5) foreign language courses taken in an ethnic school program approved by the Illinois State Board of Education, (6) work-related training at manufacturing facilities or agencies in a Tech Prep Program, (7) related vocational or technical education courses, or (8) a registered apprenticeship program. Students participating in a registered apprenticeship program must meet the conditions outlined in board policy 6:310.
This request for class substitution must be completed by the student’s parent/guardian (or by the student who is at least 18 years of age) and submitted to the Building Principal for approval. If this request is approved, it will be kept in the student’s temporary school record in accordance with 23 Ill.Admin.Code §1.445 (as applicable) and Section 4 of the Ill. School Student Records Act (105 ILCS 10/4).
