    IVMS - 4200 Desktop Software

This runs on Greg and Heather's Desktop and Laptops. The App is also on our phones. If it is going to run on our machines it cannot be any older than the currently installed version of iVMS-4200V3.8.0.4_E. These files are stored on Greg and Heathers desktops download folders and Gregs external backup drive.

Restoring a camera that is not working

If there are several not working, restart the NVR located in the Tech Room in the basement of the Office/Activity building. If only one is down, unplug the camera cable at the camera network switch for a minute and then plug in. It may take as long as 10 minutes to restore so be patient.

NVR Hard Drive #4 is broken 2/16/23

This gives about 46 days of storage for all 36 cameras. This seems like enough for most historical look backs.

    HIK connect, iPhone Favorites

When creating favorites, (the + button in the upper right corner) the group appears to be editable, but that feature does not work properly. Removing a camera from a group by dragging it up to the top of the screen to delete it is only temporary so any camera that replaces it will not be there after you reopen the program. You must make the group the way you want it or else you have to delete it and remake it. If you want the groups in a sequential order, the last one is the first one you see, so you must make them backwards. My suggestion is to write them down on a piece of paper so you don’t make any mistakes because if you do, you have to start all over by deleting them.

How to find an event using the NVR in the basement Tech. closet

Unplug the blue HDMI cable from the transmitter that is connected to the front desk monitor. Plug the blue HDMI cable into the monitor and then unplug the Front Desk mouse connection from the USB-A port on the NVR. Plug the mouse into the NVR USB-A port. Turn on the monitor by pressing up on the first button from the right located on the bottom edge of the monitor. After the session is complete plug the blue HDMI cable back into the transmitter box that connects to the front desk monitor. Then plug the USB A cable from the front desk into the NVR.

Tap the round blue playback button in the top left of the toolbar. Select the channel (camera) on the left and select the date below that with a double click. Click on the smart button on the left of the bottom toolbar. The Smart function shows the blue time line with with red activity markers indicating motion is detected. Once that is up, you can slide the red slider to different points in time that might contain the activity you are looking for.

When the session is complete switch back to live view by pressing the camera button in the upper left of the upper tool bar.  Revert the HDMI and Mouse connections.
