15.06 Bereavement Pay

Full Time employees who have completed at least 90 days of continuous service will be eligible for up to 3 days away from work, with pay, in the event of the death of an immediate family member. Immediate family member for the purpose of this policy is defined as the employee’s children, spouse, parents and siblings and the children, parents and siblings of the spouse. Regular Part-time employees will be eligible for a prorated number of days. (i.e. 25 hrs. 25/40 X 3 = 2 days.)

Employees who require more than the eligible days away from work may request earned vacation time, or a leave of absence, subject to the provisions of CHPC’s leave of absence policy.

Bereavement pay will not be considered as hours worked for the calculation of overtime.
