6.05 Passwords
Passwords are an important aspect of technology security. They are the front line of protection for user accounts.
- All passwords (e.g., email, web, computer, etc.) should be strong passwords and follow, at minimum, the standards listed below.
- Passwords and/or credentials are should not be shared or distributed, either verbal or written.
- CHPC user account passwords should not be re-used for other accounts.
- If a password is suspected to have been compromised, IT reserves the right to lock the account until access can be remediated.
- Passwords must be a minimum of 8 characters, with at least 1 capitol letter and 1 symbol
