Setting Up Calendar Views
One of the great features of the calendar is that you can customize different filters on the calendar and then save them for later use.
A saved set of Filters is called a View.
For example, most organizations create a view titled "Public" (or something similar) to easily manage which events are displayed to everyone through our integrated Website or Mobile App solutions.
-
1Creating a New View
- Navigate to your calendar. (NOTE: if you do not see the Calendar option in the left navigation menu on your screen, have an admin check your Calendar Permissions).
- Along the bottom of the screen, use the Filters to show/hide events based on the criteria you need. For example, you can show only the events pertaining to a certain ministry, events only in certain room(s), only the events that use vehicles, etc. You may use any combination of Filters that you'd like. You will know Filters are in place because a green dot will show next to filter tool name along the bottom.
- Once the Filters are in place, Click on Views. The Views list will appear.
- Click the Add a View button. Give your View a name and click ADD. From now on, this View will be available to you (and other authorized users) in the Views menu.
-
2Showing a View on Another Website (Embed Code)
Views can be seen not only when logged into your program, but also can be embedded on external sites such as your church website, a blog, etc. To do this, you'll need to get the short HTML code from your Calendar program, then send it to your website administrator.
- From the calendar, click on the Views button.
- Next to each listed View, you'll see a button. Click the actions next to the View you want. This will open the Edit View dialog window.
- Look for the area for "Website Embed Code". Copy everything inside this box. This is the HTML code that you will need to embed into your external website.
Once the view is embedded on a page of another website, you'll see the filtered calendar view appear there. Events will be updated in real time, as changes are made. For more detail, see Embedding a Calendar on your Website.
-
3Subscribing to your Calendar
While we suggest embedding your calendar (because updates are real-time), you can also subscribe to your calendar in another calendar service (ex: Google Calendar) that can monitor a calendar URL for changes.
- From the calendar, click on the Views button.
- Next to each View, you'll see a button. Click the actions next to the View you want. This will open the Edit View dialog window.
- Look for the area titled "Calendar Feed" and copy the URL from the box provided. Use this URL to subscribe to your calendar in a 3rd party Calendar Service.
Events you add will not immediately appear in your 3rd party calendar. Events only sync to 3rd party calendars when the 3rd party service requests an update. (In other words, we cannot control how often subscribed calendars sync). For example, Google Calendar updates subscribed calendars usually once every 24 hours.

4Changing or Deleting a View
Once a View has been created, it is not possible to edit its settings. To accomplish changes, just Delete the View and then re-create it. To delete a View:
- At the bottom of the calendar screen, click the Views button.
- Next to each View, you'll see a button. Click the actions next to the View you want to delete.
- Click the red Delete button.
