Settings: Group Properties

Filtering and managing Groups (or if you custom-named this area in Terminology it could be called something different) can be made easier in your database by leveraging Group Properties. This helpful tool can be added to many Groups at one time and is powerful when combined with Group Views.

Add and Manage Group Property Tags

To manage your Group Properties, click on the Settings Gear then click on the Groups Tab. Next, click on Group Properties.

In this management area, you can now define the properties you'd like to use as 'tagging' options for your Groups. At the lower left, add a Property Category (step 1), then add Group Property (tagging) options within each category (step 2).

Note: Your ChMS has a few Group Properties set up by default. You can edit these existing ones to meet your needs and add more. There is no limit on how many you can create.

Because the database is very flexible in this area, we suggest pre-planning what 'tag' options you may need for reporting or simplifying group management. You can always add or edit as you go.

Apply Group Properties to Multiple Groups

There are two ways you can apply properties:

    1. By selecting multiple Groups from the list
    2. On a Group-by-Group basis

Apply Group Properties to Multiple Groups at Once

To add properties to many groups, go to Groups → List. Then select all the groups which will receive the property (or properties) you'd like to add.
