How Do I Add A Counter To The Confidence Or Notes Monitor?

Timers on your Confidence or Notes monitor can count up to show a speaker how long they’ve been speaking or count down from a pre-determined time limit.

Confidence Monitor Outputs display a high contrast, text-only view of the slide content and Notes Outputs can show custom information related to the currently-presented slide.

To set up a Notes/Confidence Monitor, open the Display Settings in Proclaim and:

  1. Connect the displays to your computer running Proclaim.
  2. Set up your desired Virtual Screen(s) (e.g., Confidence and/or Notes).
  3. Assign Virtual Screens to your outputs.

    1. Add timer cues.

    Add a Start Confidence Timer cue and a Stop Confidence Timer cue from the Add Item Menu. To count down to a specific time or for a specific duration, add only a Start Confidence Timer. You can set the duration of your timer as shown below.

    Note: Use keyboard shortcuts to speed up the process. To add a start confidence timer, press shift + ctrl + , on a Windows PC or shift + ⌘ cmd + , on a Mac. To add a stop confidence timer quickly, press shift + ctrl + . on a Windows PC or shift + ⌘ cmd + . on a Mac.

    The Default view for Confidence Monitors will show timers by default. Learn how to customize your Confidence Monitor output.

    Set Confidence Timer details.

    Position your cue(s) in your Order of Service panel.

    To set a Timer’s details, select it in the Order of Service panel. You can choose to stop your timer in two ways:

     

    Count down or up to a time or duration.

    Click the suggested time and choose a set time or duration (e.g. “10 am” or “5 min”). If counting down, you can set it to count down from the start of your service time or from your Confidence Timer. Cue Options.png

     

    Select the Start Confidence Timer cue and set it to count up and to stop the timer at the Stop Confidence Timer cue.

    Enable Notes Output timers or overtime counters.

    With the cue selected, check the option to Show overtime counter if you want the timer to continue counting in red if the timer goes over the limit you set. Check Show on Notes monitor if you want the timer to also show on your notes monitor.

    Note: If you set your Start Confidence Timer to count up until your Stop Confidence Timer, you will not be able to show overtime counter.

    Timers configured as shown above will only appear on Confidence and Notes outputs. Learn more about timers on congregation-facing outputs.
