User Laptop Troubleshooting

How to fix odd colors on the monitor, speed up the operation of a machine, restore missing functions or action from functions and speed up the internet connection.

    Turn off your laptop.

    On a Windows machine press the Start button > Power > Shut Down. For a complete shutdown, press and hold the power button down until the machine stops running.

    On an Apple machine press the Apple Button > Shut Down. For a complete shutdown, press and hold the power button down until the machine stops running.

    Restart Computer

    Wait for 30 or 60 seconds before restarting the computer. Watch for any startup messages and record them on paper or take a photo of the screen with your phone.

    Search for computer functions Windows / Mac

    Apple Computers: 

    FYI, they moved the "update software" in Ventura to:
    Settings > General > Software Updates
     
    Anytime you need to find something and don’t know where to look, use the search function either in the upper right corner on the task bar or in Settings on the top of the sidebar. This will take you right to the proper place or give you a selection to choose from.
     
    Windows Computers:

    Use the search function on the lower task bar and it will take you to the correct location or give you a list to choose from.
