14.12 Book and Resources Ownership

In general, when church funds are used to purchase any item, including books and resources, they are owned by CHPC and not any individual or employee. Below are the exceptions to that rule:
    1. Resources purchased out of the Pastor’s Resource Allowance are owned by the Pastor as a provision of employment.
    2. Resources purchased by an area to be provided in teaching/training events may be retained by the participants.
    3. Since periodicals fall into a gray area in terms of useful life, the Director(s) of the area may decide how to dispose of them.
Pastors are encouraged to utilize money allocated for study leave for that purpose, but may, at the Pastor’s discretion, purchase study materials, the amount which may not exceed the total designated for Professional Development.
