When adding paper to tray 3 or 4, these are smart trays which have motors that lift the paper up. This mechanism needs to be reset by removing all paper, move the paper guides back-and-forth and then putting the paper back in with the paper tight between the rear and front guides.

The auto paper select needs to be reset by taking the paper out of the guides, moving the guides back-and-forth, and then resetting the guide to the paper, being careful not to make it  larger than the paper.

Follow the instructions on the screen. If you cannot locate the piece of paper may just be a small piece. You can open all of the paper drawers at one time and look in from the end of paper tray number five and the access door beneath it. It is helpful to shine a flash light or your phone light into the cabinet through the open drawers while looking through the different slots on the end of the machine. In the event this does not show any paper anywhere, close up all the drawers, turn off the machine and then unplug the A/C cord from the wall. Wait one minute, plug in the machine and wait 30 seconds, press the power button to turn on the start up sequence. This probably will have taken care of your problem but if it doesn’t see the roller cleaning step or you will have to call for Xerox service.

You can remove tray 1 and tray 2 to allow easy access to the top and side rollers. Pull each tray out and lift up and then down and back up again as you are pulling as though you were taking out a kitchen drawer. After checking for paper debris and cleaning the rollers (There are a lot of rollers.) with a damp cloth, you can re-insert the trays by first, pushing in with the tray, raised a little and dropping it down and pushing again. If cleaning the rollers doesn't fix the problem call for service.

I called on 1/23/23 9:15 AM - Dan was on site at 2:00pm and replaced the rollers in the drawer region. Dan said to call him direct if we have any more issues.
