15.04 Holiday Pay

Full-time employees will be eligible to receive holiday pay on days that the church is closed to observe a Holiday. Typically, the church will close for the following holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas, Christmas Eve and one floating holiday.  The holidays to be observed will be determined each calendar year and will be communicated to the staff.

Regular Part-Time employees will receive this benefit on a pro-rated basis if the holiday falls on a regularly scheduled workday.

Holidays that fall on a Saturday or Sunday will be observed on the weekday designated by CHPC for observance. In certain circumstances a floating holiday may be substituted if approved by the supervisor when work responsibilities require the employee to work on a holiday.

If a holiday falls during an employee's approved vacation period, the employee will receive holiday pay and will not be charged vacation pay on the day the holiday is observed.

Employees on leave of absence for any reason are not eligible for holiday pay on holidays that are observed during the period they are on leave.

Holiday pay does not count as hours worked for the calculation of overtime.
