1Sanctuary ControlThis is a semi automated system with manual controls on many devices and WiFi accessed thermostats to Master the system.
-
2The main thermostat is located in the boiler roomThis has a remote sensor located on the north wall of the choir loft
-
3Operation StrategyAll the univents located on the side walls are individual devices. This gives us the abilitiy to zone the space. A hand held Infrared thermoter helps in determining the temperature and cycling of each device.
-
4The three univents around the chancelThese are left in the cool mode for all but the coldest of winter days. Generally, the lighting keeps the area warmer than the Pews.
-
5Evening A/C ControlThe Pump Override thermostat is located in the Office Basement Mechanical Room. The remote control is in the Honeywell TCC app. The override is not using temperatures, only pump control by the fan setting. If the secondary loop pump is running after its scheduled end (normally 6:00pm) the override is in control. This can be set from 6:00pm to 8:00pm without any effect on ice build. Running past 8:00pm will reduce the amount of Ice built because your are burning at the same time as building. This must be turned off by schedule changes when the cooling season is ended and rescheduled in the spring.
-
6Choir loft air handler operationChoir loft air handler is cooling only and to get it to run you can lower the thermostat temperature below the room temperature and it will run. The ice plant needs to be in burn and the thermostat in the sanctuary needs to be in cooling mode in order for the chilled water to circulate through the unit. If you don’t have those two items checked you’re just going to be circulating air. It is not necessary to operate this unit at any time the choir is not in the loft. Usually it is operated in the summer months to offset the heat from the lighting.

8Sanctuary Univent maintenanceFour of the Univents, two in the chapel, one by the prep room, hall door, and one by the south west Were rebuilt and the evaporator condensate tray have been cleaned and coated so they will not leak. This work was completed by Todd and John in and before 2023.
In 5/2024 John and Sam completed coating all of the remaining condensate trays. They were able to remove the tray with the fan motors attached to make it a much quicker process. They did all of them in less than three days.
