Sony TV Troubleshooting

1Restart the TV with the remote controlPress and hold the power button while the TV is turned on. When the menu box appears press the center + button to accept the suggested restart button.
This can resolve many types of issues:- TV input jack no longer works, resolved.

2Unplug the TV from the wall and wait for 30 seconds.Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, and then wait for 30 seconds before plugging it back in. This will reset the TV and can help to resolve some issues that might not be resolved with the remote restart.

3Connected accessories no longer work with the TV.If a sound bar or a TV input on the great hall TVs stop working the entire system needs to be restarted. The second floor can be restarted easily by tripping the circuit breaker number 11 in the janitorial closet to the left of the mechanical room.

4Check the connections.Make sure all cables are connected properly. Check the TV's HDMI ports, coaxial cable, and any other cables that are connected to the TV. Ensure that the cables are firmly connected and in good condition.

5Check the TV menu.Use the remote control or the buttons on the TV to access the TV menu. Navigate the menu to make sure that the TV is set to the correct input source, channel, and volume.

6Check the TV settings.Access the TV settings menu and make sure that the settings are correct. Check the picture and audio settings to ensure that they are set correctly.

9LC second floor TV resetAll TVs on the second floor can be reset at the same time by turning off the circuit breaker located in the janitorial closet to the left of the mechanical room. Turn off circuit number 11 41 minute and then turn it back on. Verify that the TVs are now working properly.

10Sony TV software updatesSometimes the TVs don’t work properly because the software has not been updated. You can also update the software manually because it doesn’t seem to do it automatically in the background, even if it’s turned on in the settings to have that feature working.
