Business Ethics Policy

  1. 1

    Conflict of Interest

We expect our employees to be ethical in their conduct. It affects our reputation and success. The company requires employees to carefully follow all laws and regulations, and have the highest standards of conduct and personal integrity.

The company will comply with all applicable laws and regulations. We expect you to conduct business in accordance with the letter, spirit, and intent of all relevant laws and not to do anything that is illegal, dishonest, or unethical.

The most serious conflicts of interest usually arise where an employee has authority to spend the company’s money, has authority to hire or engage a person outside the company or has information that could be valuable to a person outside the company.

Employees have an obligation to conduct business within guidelines that prohibit actual or potential conflicts of interest. The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

    1. Any act of bribery whether implied or expressed. It involves receiving and/or accepting any form of bribe, whether financial or otherwise. Eg: Kickback, substantial gifts, favors, entertainment or special considerations as a result of any transaction or business dealings involving the company.
    2. Purposely influencing business dealings for personal gain or for the benefit of a relative or friend.

If you have any influence on transactions involving recruitment, purchases, contracts, or leases, it is imperative that you disclose to the Chief Executive Officer as soon as possible the existence of any actual or potential conflict of interest so that safeguards can be established to protect all parties.

Employees who ignore or do not comply with this standard of business ethics and conduct may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including possible termination of employment.

  2. 2

    Gift Policy

Whilst we understand that it is part of the culture of some suppliers to offer gifts or business courtesies, employees should report these immediately to the Human Resources Department who shall advise whether these gifts or business courtesies be accepted or not.

Business courtesies include but are not limited to meals, drinks, entertainment, recreation, transportation, accommodation, materials or facilities.

Depending upon the nature of the gift or business courtesies, the Human Resources Department may approve reception of these on behalf of the company and these can be raffled at the end of the year or at special events for charity or as awards to team members.

Cash gifts should never be accepted from or offered to anyone.

Any behavior falling outside the standards of this policy may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including possible termination of employment.
