The BSG is looking for an enthusiastic BSG member for the post of Deputy Chair of Education. The post holder will take over as Education Web Editor/Deputy Chair from Dr Roisin Bevan. Dr Bevan is currently Deputy Chair, BSG Education Committee, who will become the Chair of Committee. The principal role for the incumbent would be to lead the expansion of the educational offering of the BSG on the BSG web platform. The Deputy Chair will support the Education Chair in delivering the education strategy of the Society. Prior experience in education and training is required with leadership and good team working skills.
This role will become the Education Chair after 2 years.

KEY OBJECTIVES
- The Education Deputy Chair is responsible for the successful direction and delivery of the BSG Web Education Platform and develop it to become the best platform for all clinicians, trainees, nurses and other allied healthcare professionals.
- The Deputy Chair will support the Chair and deputise on their behalf when required.
MAIN DUTIES, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To lead the development and expansion of the BSG Education web offering
- To assist Education Chair with the development and execution of the BSG Education Strategy.
- Working with the BSG Head of Marketing and Communications to ensure that BSG online education content is of the highest quality and value for members.
- To expand the present content of Web Education on the BSG portal with a view to bring in more video content, podcasts, expert discussion, endoscopy training videos, journal highlights and research highlights etc.
- To work with and support the Web Education Online Editor and the two Web Education Online Associate Editors to develop, curate and review the online content.

- To work with the different BSG Section Committee Chairs to ensure that regular educational opportunities are offered by each section for inclusion on the Web Platform.
- To support the Secretary/Senior Secretary and the Programme Committee and Education Chair in the successful delivery of the BSG Annual Conferences.
- To co-lead the endorsement of educational events on behalf of the BSG and ensure that policies and procedures relating to the endorsement of events are up to date and adhered to.
- To assist Education Chair in overseeing the awarding of prizes or bursaries relevant to education on behalf of the BSG.
